Since 2009, the VOC, an independent non-profit platform of citizens and organisations opposed to cannabis prohibition, mobilizes consumers and influences public opinion. We defend free access of adults to cannabis in coffeeshops, promote regulation of private and professional cultivation and ultimately full legalization.
We need your help to continue.
We organize the Cannabis Tribunal in The Hague and the annual Cannabis Liberation Day in Amsterdam, Holland’s biggest cannabis culture festival. We run a lobbying campaign aimed at local and national politicians and inform national and international media on a daily basis.
We depend entirely on donations from consumers and companies to keep the pressure on, save our cannabis culture and make sure tourists will remain welcome in Dutch coffeeshops.

Well done VOC! I am so sad to see the Dutch govt go to war against weed. Having studied the Dutch research, it seems the ‘first mover disadvantage’ started with the 1976 change to permit coffeeshops etc. It all looked so pragmatic with its impact on drugs like heroin a statistical tour de force. Dutch addicts declining in number and increasing in age seemed to be the greatest effect. Now I see Dutch statistics are back to rapidly increasing heroin use, fatal overdoses, and so on, what an entirely preventable tragedy. So that is how I see the new Dutch war on weed – intended to promote drugs like heroin, or at least tolerating it. Best wishes to all from Australia.
