Drugsbaronnen vieren 50-jarig bestaan drugsverbod

Drug Lords Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Global Prohibition

For immediate release!dlilogoweb

Exactly 50 years ago, in 1961, the United Nations adopted the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, an international treaty to prohibit the production and supply of drugs such as cannabis, cocaine and heroin.

Drug Lords International (DLI) would like to highlight the major success stories of global drug prohibition:

–       Thanks to the United Nations, we, the drug lords of the world, operate one of the most profitable businesses on earth, yielding over 400 billion dollars profit each year

–       Afghanistan produces 90% of the world’s heroin supply and this makes it possible for our Afghan brothers, the Taliban, to buy weapons to fight their holy war

–       Despite the fact that 1.5 million people are living with HIV/AIDS in Russia, our Russian comrades still resist implementing harm reduction measures and continue to keep the prices of illegal drugs high for us

–       Despite having the largest prison population in the world (2.3 million people behind bars), and ruining countless families and lives as a consequence, the US government resists legalization efforts which allow us to benefit from the lucrative black market of drugs

–       60% of the profit of our Mexican cartels comes from marijuana trade to the US – thank you Presidente Obama for not abandoning the war on drugs!

Without the international drug conventions it would not be possible to get these enormous extra-profits without paying taxes and bothering with useless consumer protection rules.

The Drug Lords International (DLI) would like to thank the United Nations for the 50 years of global drug prohibition; therefore it invites government representatives and media workers to celebrate the anniversary together!

We are organizing an open air reception and an international press conference on the opening day of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) in Vienna.

Place: The entrance of the Vienna International Centre (Wagramer Strasse 5.)
Date: 8:30 AM March 21. 2011.

All media workers are welcome!

Legalization is the best thing that could happen right now, for so many reasons. I think it’s coming soon.
